Dr. Glenn Kirk
Refractive Clinic Director
Dr. Kirk Graduated from Indiana University and IU School of Optometry in 1994 (Bloomington). He served his residency in Memphis, TN and joined Eye Specialists of Indiana in 1995, where he has been on the team which has cared for over 100,000 successful adult eye laser and cataract surgeries. Dr. Kirk not only takes care of patients, he also instructs optometry students, eye surgery residents, and hundreds of practicing Indiana eye doctors, and is involved in technician and nurse training at Eye Specialists of Indiana and PEOPLE SMILE & LASIK.
Dr. Kirk is active in the Indiana Optometric Association and is the co-director of patient services and a clinic director at both Eye Specialists of Indiana and PEOPLE SMILE & LASIK. Dr. Kirk is a popular lecturer for practicing eye physicians and participates in multiple continuing education meeting in the U.S. and abroad. He is on the faculty of Indiana University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Dr. Kirk lives with his family in Greenwood, and is an enthusiastic IU sports fan. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and dogs.

Dr. Paul Walton
Refractive Eye Surgeon & Chief Officer of Patient Experiences
Dr. Walton graduated with honors from Greenville College (Illinois), and Jefferson Medical College (Philadelphia), Mercy Catholic Medical Center (Philadelphia) Internal Medicine Internship and he completed his training in eye surgery at the Bethesda Eye Institute (St. Louis). He is board certified by both the American Board of Eye Surgery and the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Walton is a board member on the Society for Excellence in Eye Care, and is active with the Refractive Surgery Alliance, the Indiana Optometry Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He holds faculty appointments and teaches lasers and cataract surgery at three universities: Indiana University, St. Louis University, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Dr. Walton's role with PEOPLE SMILE & LASIK as "Chief Officer of Patient Experiences"- he manages our team of eye doctors and staff, and he provides comprehensive sedation and anesthesia services for our refractive patients in the surgery centers.
Dr. Walton has devoted his eye surgery practice since 1987 to laser and cataract surgery of the eye. He has performed over 100,000 successful cataract procedures as an active team member at Eye Specialists of Indiana's offices and ambulatory surgery centers.

Dr. Tessa Metzing
Refractive Clinic SPecialist
Dr. Tessa Metzing received her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2008 prior to her completing her residency at the University of Kentucky Department of Ophthalmology. During her residency training, she focused on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Metzing brings more than 15 years experience providing specialty optometric care, including pre-op and post-op cataract care, to Eye Specialists of Indiana. Dr. Metzing is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association.
Dr. Jennifer Nguyen
Refractive Clinic Specialist
Dr. Jennifer Nguyen is originally from Minnetonka, MN. In 2013, Dr. Nguyen graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2019. Before graduating from the School of Optometry, Dr. Nguyen completed a rotational externship at Eye Specialists of Indiana where she focused on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, refractive procedures, and pre- and post- operative cataract care. She is also a member of the Indiana Optometric Association.
